GitLab is hiring a Principal Engineer, Infrastructure Platforms for Remote, South Korea. This role sets technical direction for GitLab's most critical infrastructure platforms and leads architecture for distributed, cloud-native systems at organizational scale. Key focus areas include multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure, platform resiliency, zero-downtime distributed architecture, CI/CD and delivery platform strategy, and long-term technical roadmaps across multiple teams. Core responsibilities include owning architecture for global-scale infrastructure, driving technical standards, aligning engineering and product strategy, and mentoring senior engineers through influence. Required strengths include large-scale platform or distributed systems experience, strong Golang and/or Ruby proficiency, Kubernetes-based production platform understanding, and accountability for reliability, performance, security, and cost.
